Southend Drama Society was founded in 1946. Since that time, the Society has produced a vast array of plays, from Shakespeare, to period drama, to modern comedy TV adaptations, as well as a number of plays written by our own members. Over the years, various dedicated members of the Society have diligently collected memorabilia, photographs and production details for much of the Society's history. We would like to take this opportunity to thank those individuals for preserving our history from yesterday for our curiosity today. While there is some information missing from our 60 year history, there is still a lot of fascinating information contained below. There are a number of years that show one play or no plays at all. We accept that the archive is not complete and that there are a number of "lost" plays for which we have no detail. For Southend Drama Festival entries, click here.
